About us.
Kosai is an ever-evolving space where art, culture, and storytelling come together.
At its heart, Kosai is not only about experimenting with new curatorial formats but about cultivating community. Our aim is to foster a curatorial LAB where people come together, share perspectives, and co-develop new forms of belonging.
Informed by queer-feminist, Black Studies, and anti-capitalist theory, we approach curation as an active practice of decipherment, following the thinking of Denise Ferreira da Silva and Sylvia Wynter. This means going beyond questioning traditional categories and instead cultivating new modes of gathering, where relationships and mutual care take centre stage.
Kosai sees art and culture as a social practice for building long-term and meaningful forms of community by focusing on joy, and shared experiences.
Whitney Huber
Whitney is an artist, curator, and educator whose work explores the intersections of art, culture, and politics. With a deep curiosity for the structures that shape our world, her practice is centered on questioning conventional narratives and creating spaces for dialogue and exchange.
Beyond her artistic and curatorial work, she has a profound appreciation for food and its cultural significance. Fascinated by the ways in which culinary traditions reflect societal structures, she sees food as a medium for connection, joy, and shared experiences.
As the founder of Kosai, Whitney integrates these perspectives into a multidisciplinary space that is both community-oriented and experimental. Through exhibitions, workshops, art products, and publications, Kosai fosters artistic exploration and cultural dialogue, inviting people to come together.
